The End of an Era

That's right, I'm back in Blighty for good and the Year-abroad blues have already hit.

Not that England isn't fab, but I just can't believe I'm not going back to Rome! May sound corny but in the end it did become my little home, and I will miss it dearly.

Spending the last 10 months abroad was definitely a 'whirl-wind' one might say, and for the first time in ages I was able to live like a 'normal' 20 year old, with normal studenty problems - I did have to travel to London for 2 hospital scans but as they went well I was able to enjoy my year and ignore (as much as possible) any health issues or hospitals for the entire year. Something for which I am very grateful! (And something I hope continues for a long long time).

I want to write some blogs about my time in Rome, and some of my favourites things to do, places to eat etc., to keep the memories alive and also because I love travel blogs myself...

For now this is a short piece to say thank you for a fab year - it was the birth of this blog, the birth of some new friendships, and a hell of a lot of good memories and travelling and food and all of the things I love.

I may have had the worst exam period of my entire life, and had multiple embarrassing experiences with my Italian and some difficulty coming to terms with Italian culture, but having come through all of that I can say all the confusion and stress was worth it. 10/10 would recommend a year abroad to anyone (who has somewhat of a thick skin...).

It is the end of an era, it will be missed.

Grazie Roma <3
