My Story and Shine Cancer Support

Hi there!

Just a quick one here. I have been struggling to find the motivation to write, recently. My job now entails a lot of time sat in front of a computer, and once I've done my day I don't tend to have the energy to spend more time in front of a computer, and my brain tends to just turn to mush! I prefer to spend my evenings and weekends relaxing/seeing friends/family/catching up on tv/doing exercise. But this blog is my baby and I will continue to post as and when I see fit.

I'm jumping on now quickly to share that Shine Cancer Support have shared my cancer story on my website. If you would like to read it click on this link: Maddie's Story

Shine are a lovely charity that support people in their 20s, 30s and 40s going through cancer. This support comes in many forms, from Facebook groups, to information booklets, to local meet-ups and in-person events, group trips, conferences for young people with cancer, and more. Do check out their website if you would like to find out more about the support Shine offer. The charity was started by 2 women who were diagnosed with cancer as young adults, and I think that's always the sign of a great organisation with the best values and intentions.

Cancer as a young person is extremely rare and as a result can be a really lonely experience. It is so important to have support available and others to talk to who are going through similar experiences.

In my story, I share my diagnosis, how I dealt with it and how my friends/family coped, and about my treatment now and options for the future.

Just in case you were wondering if I was still here - hello! I'm alive and well!

Keep an eye on my page for future blogs, and subscribe if you would like to be notified next time I post.

Thanks for reading.
